DIY Wood Pallet Table

Need a table quick and fast but don’t want to go out and buy one?
A table needs to be able to hold plenty of weight and look decent at the same time. So what does it take to create a DIY table in a short space of time with a small budget. Particularly if you like a rustic look this table is so easy to put together, all you need is wooden pallets, sanded down and fixed together with some sturdy nuts and bolts.


DIY Curtain Makeover

Curtains can make or break a room so if you look up to your windows and feel unimpressed at what you see then maybe it’s time to give your Curtains a makeover. There are 3 design ideas that can spruce up your curtains and make them the feature of any room and guess what? they are so easy and can be done completely by yourself!



If you’re feeling pretty uninspired then you can always brighten things up with a splash of colour. All you need is some cheap sheets and some fabric dye, there are so many ways to create the perfect set of curtains for you - try adding a modern twist by ombre dying, all you need is to dip them in a bucket.

Stamping or stencilling is also a great way to create some unusual patterns and give your curtains a graphic look for next to nothing, use a variety of methods - you could use a sponge or even a toilet roll tube the opportunities are endless. Mixing and matching your curtains is also a great way to give your curtains a makeover, try using two different patterns or colours, cutting them in half, swapping them over and sewing them back together again!


Nowadays rugs can cost quite a bit,  so if you’re not prepared to fork out then why not be creative and make your own? A rug is a great addition to any room and can make a room ultra cosy particularly in these Winter months.

If you can get your hands on a spare piece of neutral carpet then you’re opportunities are endless - a great way to create a modern look without breaking the bank. Try spray painting over stencils - polka dots are always a great idea as they are easy to do and look super fashionable.


DIY Lighting Solutions

Lighting is a great way to create a variety of different moods and you’d be surprised how easy it is to create lighting solutions on a budget.

If you’re into origami then why not try sprucing up old christmas lights by attracting colourful paper boxes to make some unusual origami lights - perfect for childrens rooms. Using cardboard is also a creative, yet inexpensive way of creating light shades. You can be as ‘out there’ as you like by using a variety of different textures and shapes. Plastic and paper cups are also a great way of creating shades, smaller paper cups can be used to decorate older fairy lights and plastic cups can be used to create a disco ball effect.

If you have any white or neutral shades that you aren’t using then why not put your drawing skills to the test? Using black fine line pens sketch a variety of different patterns to match your interior on to your plain light shade - be sure to practice of some paper first. If you’re not too good at drawing then you can always use  rubber stamps  to create a range of patterns.


DIY Garden

There are plenty of ways you can make life a lot easier when it comes to your garden, all of which can be done on your own.

Many of us store our bins in the back garden, lets face it they can look pretty ghastly. Covering up bins with fencing and shrubs is a great way to keep your garden looking pretty. If you have urn plant pots in your garden and they are looking rather dull, then why not spray paint them to add a new lease of life to you garden.
