Got Fabric ?

With the ease of DIY projects increasing now more than ever, the leftovers of fabric can serve your creative imagination as well in not just decorating your home but also benefit functionally. These items will be easy to make, fun and exclusive of your home. Here are seven of our favourite picks but don't stop using your own imagination to create more.
      Storage Boxes:

This is like the warm up DIY project because it is that easy! You just need a hot glue gun, any storage box, and all the leftover fabric. Now mix and match the lid and box in beautiful contrasts and just wrap and glue the fabric to it. You can make from bold contrasts to more pastel and vintage boxes. They not only decorate your room but also serve as storage boxes. Stack them in a corner of your room and place a vase over it or even a glass and you will have a corner table secretly stuffed with your storage items too. To take this a step further, you can paste some buttons or metal studs to personalize it more.

      Wall Frames:

Take all the leftover fabric, and get them framed in different sizes and frames to create a wall of fabric art in your home. This is the most inexpensive way to making wall hanging that  give your house a cozy home-like feel and can instantly decorated your living room or corridors.

      Kitchen Life:

You can add life to your kitchen by using pieces of fabrics with bright colors. You can paste them and create liners for your kitchen cabinets or paste a strip on the wall above cabinets and place little plant pots in front of it. This can brighten up your kitchen in no time.
You can take a strip or mix and match pieces of different shapes to make a table cover. It will never get out of fashion to have a custom, handmade table cover.
      Fabric strip Valance:
If you have longer pieces of fabric left, you can combine them to make a strip valance for small windows of maybe your kitchen. It looks amazing especially on the windows that open into a garden. Just use your creativity with the colours. All you need to do is cut them in almost equal sizes and then knot them to the curtain rod.
      Cushions:
If you can stitch even on a very basic level then cushions will be a great choice for you. Stitch different pieces together that you think will go great in contrast. Just two or three of such cushions will take your living room sofa to a whole new level of decor.

      Lampshade:
Lampshades are the most versatile choice for using fabric. You can make so much out of simple lampshades in every way you can possibly think of. On a very basic level, just wrap strips around the lampshade longitudinally from insides to outside and tie a nice knot.

      Fabric Garlands:
Take small equally cut pieces of fabric in any colours and a transparent wire or simply a thicker thread. Preferably cut these pieces into Circles or squares and make tiny holes enough for the wire to pass in the centre. Now pass the wire or thread from the centre and tie a knot to keep it in place. Make long garlands like this and you can tie them to a window or around a mirror or you can use them in doorways as well.
